Olive oil in every jar. Zero seed oils.
Every drop of oil in our hummus, toum, tahini and pita chips is olive oil. No canola, sunflower, safflower or soybean oil, ever. It costs more and it's harder to work with. We use it anyway, because it tastes better.

oil
The only oil we use.

Hummus
Organic extra-virgin olive oil, blended into all six flavors.

Toum
Whipped with olive oil. It's hard to do, which is why almost every toum on the shelf uses canola instead.

Tahini
Toasted is one ingredient: organic sesame. Date and Pomegranate add a little organic olive oil.

Pita chips
Baked, never fried, with organic extra-virgin olive oil.
What we leave out.
Seed oils are pressed or extracted from seeds: canola, sunflower, safflower, soybean, corn, cottonseed and grapeseed. They're cheap and neutral-tasting, so they turn up in a lot of packaged dips and snacks. You won't find any of them in ours.
Most store-bought toum
- Canola or another seed oil
- Often citric acid or xanthan gum to keep it stable
Obour
- Olive oil only, in everything we make
- No seed oils, stabilizers, gums or preservatives
- Canola
- Sunflower
- Safflower
- Soybean
- Corn
- Cottonseed
- Grapeseed
Every ingredient, every jar.

Isn't sesame a seed?
It is, but tahini isn't a seed oil. It's whole sesame seeds, toasted and ground into a paste, the same way peanut butter is ground peanuts. We grind ours in our own kitchen every week.
